I've often wondered how I would handle this if my son ever chose to live his life as a female. I'm very open-minded about his choices...but I wonder. Would I be wrong if I couldn't bring myself to refer to him as my daughter? I would never expect him to call me DAd after calling me MOm for a few decades. Your thoughts?

You know what really bugs me about this post? The guy in the picture is really hot! If he would put down the lipstick and pick up a woman, he would look a hell of a lot better. My best friend of 10 years is transgender. Her family still doesn't accept her as a woman, but she is finally at a point in her life where she is happy with who she is. It's not going to be easy, I assure you, but in the end, I hope that you will be a stronger person for it. I'm happy to hear that you've told your mother. I hope you are able to tell your father someday soon. Families may not always be as accepting as they should. Sometimes, family is what you make of it - the people who care about you and love you for who you are, not your gender identity. I admire your courage, and I wish you the best of luck.
