Don't freak out. Children are especially receptive, most grow out of this stage while others their abilities increase. Try to make him understand that not all people understand this and not to tell people what they are thinking.

We all have telepathic abilities when we are born and they are conditioned and programmed out of us. Be careful who you share this info about your son with. Especially do not share with anyone involved in religion, military or masonry. So, don't discourage him but also don't make it known to the public. As time goes on it will be safer to do so but at his age, certain groups have "special interest" in children who strongly present these gifts.

You have to tell him soon that this is something you only discuss with family, in private, and NEVER with friends or teachers. Trust me, you'll save him a world of hurt if he can get him to just keep it to himself. Or better yet, for his sake, just get him to stop doing it at all.

encourage your son, nurture his gift, but definitely make sure he knows that it's something private that shouldn't be talked about outside of home. there are a lot of cruel people out there, who don't understand, and will make him to feel like a freak.

It's not a "gift", and he's not reading your mind. It's called "confirmation bias". You only remember the 1% of the times when his comments coincide with your thoughts. You forget the 99% of the times when there is no correlation. Any unbiased observation would prove this.

Don't be freaked out. We all have abilities, most just don't believe, or "forget" as they get older, because someone has discouraged them or told them it wasn't possible. My family each has shared and different abilities, as we got older, they got stronger. I can connect with several people, and not only read their thoughts, but feel their emotions. I work with a Shaman to learn to control those and other abilites. Several of the above posters are correct...be careful who you share the information with, there are many nonbelievers, and those that would seek to harm him. It is a gift that should be nurtured, not destroyed.
