I work on a college campus as a student supervisor. My first thought is that the other student employee probably had Federal Work Study, which means part or all of their salary is paid by the gov't and not by the school. Only Americans and Permanent Residents can get Work Study. The "other student employee" was probably just cheaper for the school.

this is OP, im a black male. and the other employees got paid the same wage as me. also i had been working there a year longer than my boss and the new employee and was in my final year of college there. my boss didnt even know how to copy and paste and had to train her how the office worked. she just hated minorities, exp. mexicans. im sorry to the skeptics but its a clear cut issue

I'm white. This past month. I have never felt so much racism agents me coming form blacks in my life. I think it is coming from are elected officials. OP I personally don't like black males, but don't mind black females. The aggressive nature of black males is far to much for this cracka. As I was saying; I don't like black males, but from a professional standing I would work with one, but if I felt threatened I would remove the threat. Just saying. Find another department to work in. It sucks but it's kind of true about what some people are saying here. There will be plenty of other positions that will want you because of your race. Like give California a try. Where I used to work, a white male had an automatic mark against them for not being a minority in any sense.
