Why do people hate religious people so much? I know there are idiots among them that do stupid things, but they also do so much for the communities. Look at Catholic charities and soup kitchens and charity drives. These are done by organized religion. Lets judge people by their specific character and not by what you like to stereotype.

Any person that believes that their life is controlled by some all seeing all powerful god, or even that such thing exists is misguided. We all get one chance at life one chance to do what ever it is that we think we need to do and it doesn't matter what that choice is, we all get one try. Then it is over and we will never have another chance again and this is what life is for all of us. Telling of gods and rewards and the possibility of hell after life is misguided and takes away from the reality that life is. My problem with religion is that whether you have given your life to it or not every one is effected by others beliefs. People that believe in afterlife or gods are walking around in a haze and polluting the world with their stories and fables and it scares me terribly that these diluted minds have influence over social and political services that effect everyone in adverse ways. When will people wake up and realize that life is short and one chance is given to everyone and then it is gone. When you stop believing in fairy tales then you can realize how precious life truly is, until then believing in religion is living in a lie and you can not understand how valuable your consciousness is.

OP here, first comment, I'm actually agnostic. I just don't get the hate. My mother is deeply religious and would never hurt anyone and goes with her church group to soup kitchen and the church houses the homeless when its cold. No reason to call her an idiot for that.
