You do not have to feel obligated to tell anyone about your past. Just make the best of the present. But you need an 'aw f*** it" attitude about your past. That will be much better than talking about it to someone who may hold it against you latter or use it as a reason to leave you

4^ Obligated? Who said anything about obligation? You talk about it with someone, because they have a different POV, because it widens yours to share theirs. As for the aw f*** it attitude...the book says, you may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with you. Obviously true in this poster's case. As for someone holding it against you or leaving you...do you really want someone in your life who would do either? A relationship without trust ain't worth it.
