LOL This one made me smile. I am a guy and do the same thing. Heck, sometimes I masturbate and get my release thinking about old flames. We want what we cannot have. Even when the relationships were not so good(But perhaps the sex was good). We are free thinkers. It is only natural that you would ponder your whole life. The trouble begins when you find those individuals and sleep with them again. I speak of those relationships that were not healthy for you.
