I gave up God and no longer feel guilty about the little things religious people think is wrong. That has made me happier. Op: When you are scared, just be strong. Praying will not help or all those religious people who died in tragedy would have been spared.

Jesus had to die on the cross for the atonement of our sins. He took the punishment that we all deserve upon himself by the order of his Father (God). Otherwise our sins would of always separated us from the Lord. This act also allowed Jesus's followers to receive the holy sprit.

^^I was a sunday school director for a huge church. I stopped believing and I am happier now than ever before. It is nonsense to say that you cannot know real love unless you worship a god you have never seen, touched, or talked to. You say he has spoken to you. Religion is the greatest hoax ever perpetuated upon mankind, I gave it up years ago, after struggling with it for most of my life. I simply looked at it from a completely rational point of view and realized that it is simply a myth. As far as having no one to pray to...you will get used to the fact that there is nobody listening. We are personally accountable for our own moral and ethical behavior, and are not subject to the whim of some imaginary deity. looking down at us. Good for you for having the intelligence and courage face reality.
