I gave that stuff up years ago. It was killing the cells around my wallet. Besides, after years of staying away I tried it a few years ago. That shit made me so paranoid,I could not think straight. How I ever wanted to do that for so many years is beyond me.

So sad when ppl become more stupid as they get older. There are other ways to relax you know that don't turn you into a zombie.

^^It is a matter of reality. As you get older that last thing you want for your health is to self-medicate

I smoked from 12 years old to 34. I haven't smoked in 12 years and I never will again because it ruined my lungs. I wish I would have quit sooner but it took watching my Dad die from lung cancer and getting sick myself to stop me. I had a lot of fun back then but I'm glad it's over because I value breathing these days!

^i just love how people ASSume that because you smoke marijauna you are automatically a jobless, worthless member of society. tell that to all my friends who are doctors and lawyers and private investigators and teachers and councilors....they all are college educated, have good jobs, make good money, pay taxes, have nice homes and families and you know what? THEY ALSO SMOKE POT IN MODERATION. i myself manage a doctors office and love to partake when i get home :)

Yup. They smoke pot in moderation and indirectly support the chaos going down on the streets of Mexico.

^...yeah, it's the end user supporting the chaos in Mexico...you should do some research into the history of the hemp industry. At one time hemp was poised to become the primary source of paper and even fuel. Big industry started a smear campaign against 'marijuana' in order to protect timber and other industries. BTW, it is possible to smoke a little weed and still be a productive and intelligent member of society.

3 up: Dude, I lived through the 60s and 70s. The reason pot has such a stigma is because it came into popularity at a time when many people did not know if the social structure of America was going to completely implode. Pot was a signature center peice for rebellion against establishment. After 40 years of research, some of it done by Johns Hopkins, Mayo, and Cleveland Clinic, it is determined that it has medicinal bebefits, but there is no way it should be legalized. There is a direct correlation between drugs and the decline of Western values.

Hey OP, I am almost 60 and have tremendous stress in my life, at work and at home. I am almost ready to retire and have been wondering if weed could help me to relax. I don't smoke or do any drugs but am considering starting. At my age, would you recommend it ? I am serious and hoping for an answer for the OP and any others who can offer advise. Thanks.

1 up: When I used to smoke I got paranoid. If this happens to you the first time, you will always feel the same way when you get high after smoking. If you smoke it all the time to relieve stress you will become somewhat lithargic during periods when you are not high/smoking. Eating it is another way of getting high. It is a different effect, from what I am told. I never ate it. But have wondered if I would have had a more mellow high without the paranoia.

^for one, wait until you retire. if you get hurt at work, it could blow your chances for retirement. companies tend to drug test, even if it's just slipping on the front sidewalk. after that, do it, it is so relaxing, but do it in moderation

To the 60 year-old about to be retiree: Yes - You should at least give it two tries. Sans scientific side effects, pot helps me with arthritis pain, appetite and sleep. I find it also enhances sex.
