The first poster is correct. My dad was a raging alcoholic. My mom raised us on her own in poverty without ever asking for a handout. I hated my dad for it. I mean, despised that individual. It was not until I reached my 20s that I was able to forgive him by realizing that his childhood was pretty f***ed up too. Op: you must forgive for your own sake. You do not have to forget.
