My friend, I raised a 5 and 7 year old to adulthood. When I filed for divorce from their mom they would not have anything to do with me.I knew someone who never had kids. She raised 3 from their youngest ages. In all aspects she saw them as her kids. When her husband died when the oldest was 40, he asked if she would sell the house and give the three boys their sahre of his father's estate. All she said was "your father and I worked for everything we built together."Let that be a lesson; You will never be anything to those stepkids other than someone who married their mom. So, don't feel bad. At least you only have 5 years invested. I had 13 before filing for divorce

hey dumbass, not everyone who gets child support spends it on booze drugs etc. My son gets HIS support every month and he does what he wants with it. He gets books, clothes, games, etc and those are HIS choices. So, until you have been in EVERYONE's shoes, dont lump us all together.

Most states have a law that states visitation has nothing to do with support. Let the absentee parent step up whether financially, emotionally, or otherwise. Kids deserve to know both parents, and if one is an a$$, they will figure it out soon enough for themselves. You chose to have a kid with this person, now deal with it!
