Kudos to you. I said the same thing. I am Mother to 3 wonderful adults and have 4 grandbabies. What we want and what we get are often different. Strange how we end up wanting the very things we never wanted. But....that is just me.

I said the same thing in my youth. I vowed never to have any, even though I think little kids are about the most adorable things alive. I ended up marrying a woman with two little kids. They were the coolest things until they became teens. My wife became their enabler and I watched them decend into nothingness as adults. I divorced their mom and never had another thing to do with any of them.

2^ well see that is just it, when you choose to become a parent you have to be ready to take the good with the bad. Children aren't possesions or decorations but it would seem that you think so seeing as you just threw your whole family away when things got too rough for you. Maybe someone should have aborted you? But yeah, being a parent is a JOB. One you should not sign up for unless you are ready to work your ass off. Good for you OP for at least being conscious enough to know that it's not the job for you (especially before bringing some into the world or playing dad for a few years while they are cute).

OP, you may be surprised how one day you suddenly realize you have "baby fever". Not necessarily a ticking bio clock, but a real, feverish desire to have a child in your life. When that happens, embrace it! Until then, enjoy your time without children. :)
