Everyone knows Americans are rude. Working with the public is one of the worse jobs we can hold in this country. My sister has been a waitress for decades. The way she gets around this problem is to always smile at the customers and treat them as though they have been friends forever. It is not unusual for her customers to bring her christmas gifts. She works for a large breakfast/dinner chain restaurant that would not be considered junk food.

I have heard many times that blacks are shitty tipers. It is either because they do not have the money or they think white people owe them. I know a black dude who always tips well because of that reputation. I remember when Lebron James had a $100.00 bill in a restaurant in Cleveland and didn't leave a tip at all. It was all over the radio stations. He said someone in his possie was suppose to leave it LOL.

From OP: I actually have more of a problem with middle/lower class white people, if I had to generalize. A lot of them are miserable every day. As far as black people tipping, A LOT of people tip below 15%. In fact, in diners where I work, it can be exciting to get that. However, when black people complain, I find it's because they want something done about it. Which is awesome! That is why I'm there! It's the white people that complain about something and either refuse to allow me to replace it or have already eaten most/all of it. I don't inherently give a shit about whether you had a good meal when I haven't eaten all day during my 12-hour shift—I was asking because I am the person you go to when there's a problem.

I never tip under 20%. That is the standard now days. It would be a cold day in hell before I would ever allow a waitress to return my food for what I ordered or to reheat. Cooks are not the brightest people from the best of situations. I would be very concerned that someone would spit in my food so they could have a hearty laugh between them and fellow employees. It may be rare, but I would not take the chance.

^3 wtf Cooks arnt the BRIGHTEST, what the hell do YOU know, to make such a statement. I've been in the restaurant business 30 years. And NEVER have i worked anywhere, where returned food was mistreated in the least. You must go to some pretty low class places, that this kind of stuff would take place.(or perhaps watched too many movies) ^4 I think we've prolly worked at the same places.
