Blacks will support him because the alternative will be a white person who will lead us in the same corporate direction as Obama. So, what do they have to lose? They may as weel support someone who look like them for the first time in history. Obama's 85/90 percent support among blacks is an indication of that. People, black and white, know the legislative and executive branches are for corporations. Especially the mutinational corporations whose lobbyists actually write legislative bills that get voted on in Congress. For instance, Many people probably do not know that drug companies get free money for research. Once a drug is invented and patented the drug companies jack up the prices to outragious prices, and get all the profits without being required to return the research money to the People. The same with water such as Aquafina. Look on the bottle. you will see PTW. That means Public Trust Water. The large bottling companies such as Coka Cola buy water rights as "owners" from the public while the public are on drought restrictions. Then the water companies as so poor in filtering the tap water they use, you are better off filtering your own. So, in the end, I cannot blame the blacks for supporting Obama. He is no different than the others, but at least it makes them feel better that they finally have someone in the White House that look like them for the first time.

First, what Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton espouse is no less harmful to the division of America than the white trash you blame. Al has never apologized for the Tawana Brawley incident and Jessie has made very large profits blaming corporations of racism. He calls for boycotts of their products until they contribute the Rainbow/ Push. That is a well-documented fact. Both of them supported the establishment of the label African American as a way of separating black clas from everyone else. There are other perpetrators such as our Government. OP, I am sure some aa's have seent the farce that is the Obama presidency and will secretly NOT vote for him, that is if we even in a vote in 2012. The fact is that like Bush, Clinton and most of the other presidents, Obama is a puppet and just part of the show. It was sad for me to realize that. As a middle class white female that doesn't need to be saved, I voted in the hopes he would make needed change left from the Bush era and inspire the balck community to feel empowered. Instead the reverse has happened and I honestly believe that was intended. Because the party lines are an illusion, the race wars are an illusion too. What those who run us want most of all is division among the common people because their are bloodlines that want to be the ruling elite. Middle class and lower class, I don't care what color you are, we are all still slaves to them. If everyone would understand that it might be a beginning for real change for everyone.

1 up. I think you are right. Think about it. Obama is the first black man in hhistory. Everything is on the line for that man to leave an impression that he would be different than most, if not all prior presidents. He campaigned on that very premise without coming out and saying. All we heard was Change! Change! Change! The hope of Change was so high, he even duped the Nobel Prize Committee into thinking he was something different. Then he get in there and does the exact same thing as the others. Including expanding war activities. His presidency proves to me that all is lost to the largest American corporations unless there is an armed insurrection in America. I just hope to goodness I am dead by the time that happens.
