I'm glad the govt did not shut down. We're a military family. While we are frugal with our money and have a decent savings, I wouldn't have wanted that to drag on for long. I know it's his job, but they do not pay us enough for the time apart, the crazy hours, the long hours, the worry and everything else that goes with loving someone in uniform.

Actually, the world was safer back during the Cold War than it is now because we had nukes and the russkys had nukes. It's all these ragheads and banana empires that have made the world a dangerous place. We need to increase the size of our military and revive the military-industrial complex. That's where it's at - gets us back into manufacturing too, which we need.

We should be in Afghanistan. They refused to hand over Bin Laden. It was Iraq and now Libya is where we do not belong. Do you know we have 700 American bases around the world? We are a country of aggressors because we want to rule the world. We are doing the same thing we accused the (expansionism)Communists of doing. They blamed us for such too. The miltary is the armed wing of the American multinational corporations. Not to mention oil. We go in, take over the country and move in the corporations when the situation is stable enough.
