Thank them all for their service to our country!May GOD bless them.

I am a veteran and parent. I pray all is well. It is good, in a way, that your son is wounded. Now he can come home and no longer has to fight America's globalist, corporate wars. Thank you for sharing this news with us.
Remove this stupid comment

I gave a thumbs down because it is time to get our troops out of the middle east entirely. Nothing against the troops. The politicians are the problem.
Remove this stupid comment

1 up. They sure are the problem
Remove this stupid comment

Agree with you, 2^. I'm a retired soldier and loved my service. But we have no business being in the Middle East at all. Those people fought have fought among themselves since time began - and always will fight among themselves. We need to leave it alone. Praying for your son's recovery, OP.

When the Power of Love overcomes the Love of Power this WORLD will see Peace:

4 up. God does not bless people in war. If he was blessing troops he would have never allowed them to be sent to war in the first place. It is like when people find themselves in the middle of a tornado. The tornado completely rips apart their home. Maybe kills the pets. Everything they owned to their name is completely gone with the exception of the clothes on the family's back. Then you hear those some people say. God blessed us by saving our lives. If God was going to be doing any blessing, why did he not bless them by sparing them the tornado in the first place.
Remove this stupid comment

2 up There is a Power of Love. It is the Love of money. That is all this world will ever be. Anything else is just ideals.
Remove this stupid comment

^2 I thought that exact same thing this morning when I read about someones home being destroyed by a tornado in my local paper. Exact scenario about the tornado and them saying they were blessed. Weird.
Remove this stupid comment

^ They say they are blessed because it took ONLY material things.. Wow you guys are dense! As for you son and his troop I wish that they are able to come home alive!
Remove this stupid comment

No, we are not dense. So, why does God allow tornados to rip apart a church just so the community can wonder, humm, what did the church do to deserve that one? What about when someone in the family is killed and the rest of the family is spared? People will still say they were blessed becaused the tornado did not snuff out the whole family.
Remove this stupid comment

1 up: Good points. That does not sound so dense to me.
Remove this stupid comment

I am so sorry! I hope his wounds are minor and his buddies are okay. God bless you for raising a Patriot such as this and God bless him for doing that work! I will be praying for you. And to the poster who says God doesn't bless war, you better start reading your Bible. Start with the City of Ai. Find out all you can about war from that.
Remove this stupid comment

^^Sorry to inform you that the Bible is not a historic document. It was written by men with a religious agenda to control the masses. As far as the war, innocent people are trained to believe they are defending America. They are not defending the liberties of America. They are defending the internation rights of multinational corporations to shut down their businesses here and open them up in other countries. When those countries do not go along, the United States send in these troops who are duped into believing they are defending America.

jesus christ people, this womans CHILD is hurt.....forget politics and send some positive energy their way! (((((op and family))))
Remove this stupid comment

2 up. I think it is ok to be factual enough to think you are a douchbag.
Remove this stupid comment

OP here: Thanks you all for your prayers, My son will be okay and there were no fatalities. I count it a blessing every day that my son sees a sunrise, and I would find a blessing in any circumstance the Lord leads me to because I know He will lead me through it.
Remove this stupid comment

Wigwam no get destroyed in tornado, hm.
Remove this stupid comment

4 up. Oh, please. This op could have been Cindy Sheehann informing us her kid was wounded. What good would positive energy do for her when her kid died in a fire-fight. Op, I wish you well, but if you think the Lord goes around blessing everything around us, you have some very big surprises-not all of them good- coming in your personal life if you think a religious entity controls your outcome.
Remove this stupid comment

OP here: I am not here to dispute my religious beliefs, I know what I believe and I have been through bad times and it didnt feel like blessings but I know my Savior pulled me through them. I have the right to believe what I believe even when you don't understand, and I respectfully acknowledge you right to not believe, even if I don't understand.
Remove this stupid comment

Op, you have no need to defend your position on faith. It happens to be a freedom in this country. Forget what that misinformed person says and thank you for updating us about your son. And my PRAYERS will be with you because I know GOD is in control!
Remove this stupid comment

1 up. Really. I am misinformed? I am very well informed about protestant Christianity. I was an assistant adult sunday school director for the largest Southern Baptist in a very large region in a southern state. I left the church and the faith after discovering the Southern Baptists were formed by slave owners. I understand Christian rhetoric, Christian teaching and Christian dogma. A God, your God, or THE God controls nothing because the whole concept is nonsense.
Remove this stupid comment

As is your opinion. Thank God we live in a free country where we're free to worship as we choose, without your influence. You are the one who has no control over me, so try hard to stay on topic. This person's kid was injured in war! Sheesh!
Remove this stupid comment

Right. Her kid was wounded in war. A religious one at that.
Remove this stupid comment

I agree with 3 up. Op, we do live in a free country. But why would you want to live follwing a religion? That is like living your life like a cartoon.
Remove this stupid comment

Some of you all need tin foul hats. God bless your son and America.
Remove this stupid comment

Yeah, God sure is blessing America. Isn't he? I mean, God. Look how much blessing the world has been getting. I think God is wearing a tin foil hat.
Remove this stupid comment

3^ OP here--I am not confined nor do I conform to a religion. My God is bigger than any tragedy that can occur. I am accountable only to God. My faith will not waiver. Thanks to all for keeping my son in your prayers, I am sending prayers your way too.
Remove this stupid comment

I hope this lady's son recovers and goes on to live his life happily. However, I can say that the person who was speaking of WHY wars are fought is probably just a college educated person. Honestly, these days, the more knowledge you have...you really learn to look at the bigger picture(worldwide issues). It is plain to see. As society evolves past people who are not willing to educate themselves beyond what American media tells them, the ignorance that is posted above(except a few)will become the minority. If the world can stay whole until then, that is. OP, best wishes to your son, I am sure he is an honorable man. I really do look up to the troops. The courage and character it takes to do what they do is incredibly honorable indeed. :)
Remove this stupid comment

I agree that her son is honorable. As a vetern of the 4th Infantry Division, I know what it takes to do what they do. But to say that someone is just college educated and form these secular opinions is nonsense. College fail us because they are too narrow in what sutdents should know, or do so with an agenda that is contrary to what I stated in my post eight up
Remove this stupid comment

Are you REALLY saying that a college education is not a positive addition to one's life? You have been there yes? You sound educated. Truthfully, the best thing about college is that you are introduced to issues and subjects that are not introduced in lower levels of education. You learn to think critically, and philosophy in most cases is a requirement. The world quickly becomes a much bigger place for you to consider. Just because you live in a box, that does not mean that outside of your box everything is exactly the same as your box's environment..know what I mean?
Remove this stupid comment

CONTINUED^Our society and it's ideals and way of life is just a small part of the world's content. What I am trying to say is that people who don't make it a point to seek out knowledge beyond what is inside their box, do not have an understanding of why things are the way they are, and therefore do not have the foresight to see the future and the struggles that we as a human race face, and how we can all look back at the world's history a lot of times to predict our future. A lot of people do not even have the curiosity to think further than what is in front of their face's. (sorry for being so long winded and grammatically incorrect) When the majority of the people that live on Earth do not understand the bigger picture, we as a people are at a disadvantage. We cannot prepare for the inevitable, or even take steps to prevent things that are preventable. I would just like to see us all succeed. I do feel that people being aware of the conditions that exist outside of their box is necessary to do that. Thanks for considering my thoughts :)
Remove this stupid comment

OP, I am thanking God your son will recovery and none of his buddies were killed. {{{HUGS}}} to you, sister for being a god-fearing mother.
Remove this stupid comment

To the poster who asked, "why would you want to live follwing a religion? That is like living your life like a cartoon." Would you explain how it's like a cartoon? I think that's crazy talk. God has blessed me and kept me safe through an abusive childhood, an alcoholic marriage, numerous indiscretions on my part, raising a child, and even a tornado. I thank Him for all He has done, is doing, and is yet to do on a daily basis.
Remove this stupid comment

Of course the Bible is based on historic events. Many, if not most, of it has been verified through archaeological digs. Some of you people need to study a whole lot more!
Remove this stupid comment

You say your childhood was abusive but safe, you married an alcoholic but were kept safe, and faced a tornado and made it through it and you say God saved you? If your God were protecting you, why would you think that he would let you face those terrible things in the first place? Especially as a child? You sound like you live in a fantasy. It also sounds cartoonish to think that way. to the person 1 up: What historic facts are you talking about? I am taking about the ones like a man parting a whole sea to save his people, or supposedly some man given magical powers to collect every single living creature on the face of the earth and carry them around in a boat for a year, or some guy being swallowed by a fish for three day until he is regergitated back onto a beach. Not only is that cartoonish, it is retarded
Remove this stupid comment

1 up. Religious people believe out of fear. They think if they do not follow that God who loves them with all his heart he will incinerate them for eternity. You know, like they will do to their own children under the same circumstances.

Remove this stupid comment

you can not be a "religious" person of any faith and claim to have common sense. everyone knows better. even you, deep down inside I suspect. I will never understand how the most intelligent and worthwhile people can be so void of common sense on that subject, but be so competent in the rest of their lives. it really is unbelievable, based on fear maybe..(probably) I will never understand it I fear. The rest of us who have common sense in this area, I guess we have to just deal with them. Currently they are the majority, perhaps within my, or your lifetime that will change. It makes me nervous that people are missing common sense in this subject. I wish I could depart and live amongst my own. lol
Remove this stupid comment

I know endless amount of people who are religious. They are misguided, but I know they mean well. I just don't get how someone can hold as truth every... single.. written...word of a book written almost 2000 years ago. Even Aristotle, a classical philosopher respected by anyone schooled in philosophy, thought the heart was the thinking mechanism of every human.
Remove this stupid comment

continued...if his very-well documented thinking is faulty, surely common sense could prevail that men writing the Good Book would do so with the intent to make everything sound as though their Man would be perfect, without fault, and could walk on water, or come back to life after three days of being dead-even after being impaled on a cross. Not to mention that much of this book was written long after Jesus died and by some who never saw the guy. That right there should be suspicious enough right there.
Remove this stupid comment

I will speak of Christianity because that is the religion I know. It rules by fear. Yes, its main component is love. Then there is the "But Factor". Jesus loves you as one of his children, but, if you deviate from that love you will be punished with, of all things, torture for ever and ever. It is the same tactic governments use to control everyone. Maybe governments got the idea from Christianity or governments of other countries got it from their religion. I don't know. I do know that every government entity in every country understand that humans think more with their emotions than they do their intellect and manipulte the masses for their own end.Religion/the Church has and do use the same tactics to control their flock by using Hell as a place that is the alternative if they do not follow the teaching of their respective religious sect.
Remove this stupid comment

There are good points being made here. It should also be said that ancient times in the Middle East was all controlled by men. Women were marginalized. I do not think it is a coincidence that the Bible was written in a way that benefitted men. Men are the head of the household. Only men were deciples. Only men could run the church. And, ahem, God is naturally a man.
Remove this stupid comment

^ True. One final point: If women were in charge back when the Bible was written, women would be the head of the church, they would be the head of each household, and ahem, God would be a woman. I wonder though, if Jesus was the perfect woman, would she menstrate? Now that I think of it, I wonder if the Perfect Jesus ever took a shit? I mean, I would think if someone is perfect in every and all aspects of life, they would not want to bother with something so dirty. The Bible does not talk about that because it is contrary to Polite Society and (gasp!) how would one breach the subject without marginalizing the aura written around Christ?
Remove this stupid comment

1^ If Jesus did have to take a shit, do you think he used a rock, leaves from the Josuha tree, or as many simpler Africans still do; use the left hand? The right hand is never used. It is used for eating only.
Remove this stupid comment

1 up. Yikes! I sure feel sorry for the left-handers in those African countries. Life must be horrible for those kind.
Remove this stupid comment

one up: No, life is good for left-handers. They just pray to Jesus before taking their first bite. That makes those Africans blessed with a healthy, trouble-free life.
Remove this stupid comment

^up You are so wrong! Those people who are Christians in Africa are not blessed on earth. See, while God sits on his diamond throne while staring down his golden streets and onto Heaven's pearl gates, he expects his people on earth to suffer starvation, disease, torture or rape in wars and watching the children of parents die tragically, in order to earn a ticket into His paradice. You know, God willing, that is.

You anti-God people are simply engaging in mental masturbation. It's wrong to derail this woman's thread about her son being wounded to promote your agenda. To the OP, if you're still reading, I thank God that your son will recover. I am praying for an end to our involvement in Afghanistan and anywhere in the middle east.
Remove this stupid comment

Mental masturbation? That's a new one. I'll have to try it. Imagine that orgasm. I thought everyone was debating religion when someone mention God and others mentioned their disagreement with the war, and still others wish the soldier a healthy recovery. The original post was not about God. Someone started the debate when they said they would be praying for her son. Surely, if they were going to go there, they would know that the possibility would exist that someone would disagree with there position. What is wrong with that?
Remove this stupid comment

^I appreciate all of these posts. And I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Mental Masturbation is my word of the day. lol(I am a separate poster from the two above..I am the one that talked about college being a positive addition to one's life, and the one about wanting to depart to live amongst my own. Have a fantastic day everyone.)
