I understand what you mean about closing your eyes and holding your nose. I vote in my local elections with more hope of it having influence on the things around me. I still vote in federal races too..I always try to vote for the "best of the worst" even though I am aware of how this country's affairs are handled. I am a young person, and find it hard to have faith and hope that this country will survive past my lifetime. Like everyone else, I just try and do the best I can with the power I do have...for now. I will not be having children, but the country's unfortunate future path is not the only reason why. It is partly the reason however. :/ I think I will read up on Ron, I do believe it will be a worthwhile inquiry!

This mess we are in is a combination of major mistakes as far back as Regan, yes we had surplus money when Clinton left office, but the Bush Families took its tole and I do not think any one, including your present President could fix the mess that was running on the train track as fast as it was towards self destruction. I wish someone would name on person that they think could have fixed what Obama stepped into, where there was no pain to the public - maybe some of you should hever have had houses three times the cost of what you could afford, and cars and the list of toys goes on and on.

OP here. Oh, there will be pain, for sure. The first thing Obama could have done about the banking crisis is to throw people in jail over the banking crisis. He didn't do it because as a senator he voted in favor of low income people being able to purchase homes by paying interest only. He said he could get us ut of two wars. He knew the intel. He had no intention of getting us out because he is being punked by people far more powerful than him. He is a puppet and that is all he and others will be. I do not think Ron Paul can do anything, but I think I will vote one more time. In case he gets in and does not take austerity measures, it will be the final conformation I need to never vote again.
