Sorry for the loss of an ideal but just remember biology does not make a child any more or less yours. If you've been raising and loving this child, then they are just as much yours if not more so than if you were the "biological" dad. I know that doesn't take away the pain of betrayal/disappointment but try to remember how much you love this child and they love you.

Dude, let me tell you something. If it is not your kid, go away. I raised two from childhood. You will never be anything more to that kid than someone who was once with their mom. No matter what you do for them. Start your own little research. Find people who raised someone else's kid to see what they think of them or how close they are to them, or talk to an adult who was raised by someone else while under the same roof with one parent. You'll see what I mean.

Next time study the girl's family for a while before getting involved with her. That will tell you volumns about what kind of woman she is going to be for you. It works damn near every time.
