According to what I was told by a minister in the hospital after having a heart attack . God lets people endure sorrows and pain to test our faith in him. And I still have a hard time understanding why things happen. I sometimes wonder if God cares at all but I never Question that he exists.

Do we really have free will in a world that is largely controlled by a few ruling elite? Sure we can think for ourselves until someone comes in with something to control our minds. Sure we can work toward a different outcome but if that outcome goes against what the ruling elite want then odes it every fully come to fruition?
