I love animals but I agree that we should not love like they do. IMO love needs conditions in order for it to grow and prosper just like a flower needs conditions to grow. I am tired of all of this unconditional love BS. It basically means give your love to ppl even when they are neglectful and abusive implying that setting them straight or setting boundaries is wrong. That just creates more disfunction and enabling of more BS. Sorry you lost your cat OP. I know that can be hard :(

5^ actually yes it does. Unconditionally means "no conditions" which means you love someone without any expectation and if you have no expectation you should have no conflict. It's heavily implied and plenty of ppl say things like "you don't love me unconditionally" when you confront them with things. My understanding of love as well as definitions of words and meanings is just fine thank you.

6^ Bullshit. "Love" means love. Ever heard of the phrase tough love? Do you think a mother who loves her child will let it walk into the street to avoid conflict? Love is not an absence of conflict. I can love a person, think they are wrong, and call them on it, all without calling into question my love for them. So what does it mean to love without condition? It means that you can get old without worry of losing my love. It means you could be horribly disfigured without losing. It means you could become senile and burn down our house, leaving me with a tortured body and nothing else, and I'll still love. People who use love to shut down a conflict are actually using guilt. People who call into question love as a way to conflict are cruel and/or have poor conflict resolution skills.
