I felt so much better about myelf since i gave god. and for the first comment, if we're such an insignificant speck why does the "bible" try so hard to convince everyone other wise. And why give us free will just to send us to hell if we didn't use it to worship him. And if hurt him to see us sin and stray, i think it is punishment, you can't change what the bible says to fit the context of the situation, and bad things are f***ing fun! just don't be stupid.

^ Neurotransmitters and the CNS are inadequate to explain thought. Specifically, we can refer to the story-telling function of thought, which is not a confirmed phenomenon in animals. It is possible that some animals, such as gorillas, dolphins and the octopus are capable of story-telling. As for the soul, it's such an ill-defined term. I'd suppose that if humans have one, then all creatures do, and it would be the interaction of the soul with the CNS that makes higher order thought possible.

1 up. Ohhhhh, pleeeeease! The world is not going to end at the hands of some God because you think the work has become so nasty and so full of sin these days. Have you ever bothered to read about history and how disgusting people and governments were to each other. The torture was so ungodly mad that unless you have read about it in depth in is almost indiscrible. Take the French Revolution. In one day they beheaded 2000 people in a public square. The blood was running so thick the oxen would not even enter the square because the smell of blood was so intense. Read the biography of Alexander the Great. After ceasing one town he strung up 6000 people by crucifixion along the main road to send a message to the citizens of surrounding communities. They rotted there until the bones fell off their crosses. Now, if you God was ever going to return it would have been duringthose days. You need to get a life and stop living in your OZ world, for Christ's sake.

1^. You're not shittin' about the barbaric conduct during the time of Alexander the Great and torture during the Middle ages. I went into a Ripley's Belive It or Not in Niagra Falls a few years ago. Holy shit! The devices used by kings to meed out confessions were frightening to say the lease. There was a body cage with spikes pointing toward the center. A person would be placed inside. When the little gate was shut it impaled the person inside. They were left there to die a slow, agonizing death. There was a whole room of that kind of stuff. It floors me too, to hear religious people talk about how things are so bad that God has had enough and is going to punish the whole world. Believe me. After seeing that display we modern people have it so good our times cannot even be compared to the past.

It's not that words are inadequate, but our limited perceptual field is simply incapable of registering something that is everything.
