My Mom was a homeless alcoholic for 26 yrs until the last year of her life when she decided to turn everything around. Stopped drinking, got a job, and a beautiful home on the water. She was murdered and stabbed to death 3 weeks after moving into her new home. 46 yrs old.My neighbor, 86, was a miserable woman and had every right because her drug addict grand children took advantage of her for years and destroyed her home. After they moved out she was determined to fix her home. The day before she died was the happiest I ever saw her as she got her mail, waved hello to me and said with the biggest smile,"Everything is finally coming together." She died the next day in her sleep at work when she took a nap at her desk. My best friends mom was a crack addict since we were kids. She moved out of the city to the south to change her life. Got clean and with in 6 yrs of her 48 years of life finally had a respectable job, new car, and bought a beautiful new development home. She was diagnosed with cancer a month after she bought her home.I totally get this statement.
