I hate my parents. They are judgmental assholes. I wish they would hurry up and die. All they do is create drama and trouble for me.

They also sacrificed and provided for you. You're nothing but a spoiled little crybaby and an insignificant ingrate. If your little life is so bad, move away and provide for yourself. Boo hooo

I'm sure you are a pain in their ass too! Loser

Try honoring and respecting your parents, instead of complaining all the time. They're just protecting you I'm sure. If you're not happy, get out on your own and provide for yourself. Problem solved.

Then move out and provide for yourself, I'm sure your opinion will change quite rapidly, even more so when one day you have kids of your own.

Regardless how old they are, if the OP would step back and analyze why their parents act the way they do I am certain they will discover the problem rests more with them than their parents. Where ever they is an action, there is a reaction. The OP needs to grow up and be grateful that they even still have parents. You are a pretty disgusting, self-centered individual.

OP. you've only been your age. They've been your age AND their age. Experience gives you a different perspective. What looks "judgmental" to you is likely a *memory* that goes something like, "Crap, getting drunk and driving home almost got me killed when I did it at 16."So, yeah, they judge how dumb your decisions are (and they are). They know from *experience,* whether they've told you about it or not.

To all the parents in the room...some parents are just judgemental a** ****s. Sometimes it has nothing to do with their kid and everything to do with the worldview they got from their parents. ~waiting4plague

Hey, Waiting4plague, it sounds like the only individual who is an a sshole in your family is you. Show some respect for your parents. It is their home. When you turn 18, move out.

Hey, you might be an a** **** if...you regularly make assumptions and judge people based off them.

This is the OP - I'm 34, professionally employed (manage a software development company), fully self supportive, and have a wife and three children of my own. I ask them for nothing except their occasional company on holidays and to join us for dinner or to visit. Their judgment is not necessarily only of me, but also of those around me (or them). Generally, it is with regards to religious beliefs, somebody's appearance, or personal decisions. Case in point - my wife and I CHOOSE to take our children out to eat a couple times a month. We are successful enough to enjoy this luxury from time to time. It's never anywhere extravagent - usually it's to a restaurant like Applebee's or Chili's. We have been labeled as indulgent, wasteful, unfit parents because of this. They went as far as asking to see my bank statements so they could find out "what I was doing with my money." That is just one example of many, many others.

Enjoy it. It only gets worse when you have to grow up.
