I used to feel the same way, and have realized perhaps i personify a different person to the outside world then WHO i actually am. SO perhaps let down your guard a lil, be more of WHO you are from the onset, then you meet people who actually LIKE the person YOU are!

Maybe it is YOU who's terrified of REAL closeness. Firstly, you need to redefine what it means to ACTUALLY be close to someone, I can tell you that it's not pussy footing around the doorway in a fairy costume with a wand doing the electric type writer "You can't touch this" style while the other party waits on the other side arms out stretched. Don't get upset when you get kicked in the emotional balls and the door slammed on you out of their apparent frustration. Some others are not built to deal with wasted time and games. You need to conquer YOUR fears, if you run into this same issue all the time, understand it's not everyone else, it's you, and until you face your demons don't pull anyone into this hell hole of fake "closeness" to suffer this train wreck with you. This is your issue to solve, no one can solve it for you. Don't make anyone else suffer your demons.
