So what ,my dad was a nasty drunk,my mom very overbearing.I used to get beatings at the drop of a hat.When the time was right I got out put on my big boy undies and nrver looked back.I was the only one w/ a smile at their funerals.

that is horrible, Im sorry that happened to you. I hope if you have children you will treat them with respect.Heal yourself by being a MUCH better person then your father was.. Thats what i have done with my children, and it feels really GOOD, to KNOW you did NOT propetuate that horribness for another generation.

my father used to beat my ass when I didnt deserve it. When I was 14, I told him, "you are 45...I am 14.....thats a 31 year difference.....so....when I am 45, you will be 76 and I am going to pay you back. Then I ran like hell so he couldnt get me again. lol He never hit me after that day....true story

You know, I am very sad that you folks experienced such hell. The only thing I can say is use those experiences to be a 1000% better person than your parent was and to teach others what not to do. I still feel bad that "human" parents can treat their children in such a way. My own mother told me she wish my twin had survived and I had been the one that died. I look at her with such pity for being so stupid and cold. Now she is very much alone and no one to care for her in her old age. I hope to God my life doesn't end that way. And that, my friends, is up to me.

My Step Dad beat and threw me into walls on a regular basis. Karma is great. He is an old alone fragile old man and his own blood kids cant stand him. Oh. And he is broke. The universe really will take care of it.
