1 up. Look, let's face it. Soldiers and pilots are baby killers following orders by commanders who are doing the bidding for corporations so they can set up shop to export our jobs to countries with slave wages. Look at vietnam. 56,000 soldiers died, for what, so our corporations could set up shop there? The war wasn't to stop communism. The country is still communist and we have full trading status with them. America did not care if they stay communist as long as they are not too communist where corporations could not have factories there. I absolutely agree with three up. parents can be awful regardless of their life experience. I don't bother with either of my parents as they are self centered a** ****s. I too looked up to them and respected them for way too long. cut your losses with them and move on

I was one of those military fathers that was always on the go. I have a son and a daughter and knew being gone most of the time made them feel insecure. I originally planned to make the military a career. After a lot of soul searching, I decided my family was more important than a military career. After 10 years of active duty, I became a stay at home father. I found a good position and retired after 25 years, with a better annuity than I would have received from the military.
