I'm also a closet alcoholic, and a young female. I can't explain it but also cant stop even after going to jail for it. Although I have cut back on my drinking my family is no help. I can ask them for a ride home from the bar so i don't endanger other people by driving and they refuse. But on a good note my dad is always willing to pick me up since i've spent time in jail, but that is more than likely because he drinks a lot too.

I've been an alcoholic since I was 16 now I'm 23. I went to rehab for alcohol and other drugs. I quit the drugs and that was the easy part. Cocaine was nothing compared to giving up my beer. I'm not so much attached to the feeling I get ( I don't think) as I am to the taste of it. It reminds me of my teenage years and I try to keep those memories. I don't get drunk tho I drink 8-12 beers a day. It would take me a case or more to be messed up. As long as you are responsible when you are drinking and do it at home or the place you plan on staying and are nonviolent I don't see a problem with it. I am single no kids and work and pay all of my bills. Have car and own place. Just make sure you keep a handle on your life as well. Everybody has something they are addicted to whether it be sugar or aspirin or worse. People just don't care to realize their is no difference in you or me being an alcoholic and them popping their zoloft everyday or having those 4 cups of coffee in the morning because they are addicted to caffeine. Do what you do my friend just be safe. CHEERS to you and all my other fellow drinkers. Enjoy life while you can.
