If the movie scares you, don't ever read the book. I made that mistake when I was 15.

Probably the mot scary movie and book I ever saw. I still get chills read the book in the sunlight when it first came out. I saw the movie in NYC the first day of release. Never again. I know that real evil truly exists out there. I never invite that kind of stuff around me anymore.

that is a seriously scary movie

It is so scary for the majority of people because if you were raised Catholic, you BELIEVE in the DEVIL! If you haven't seen the re-release you owe it to yourself. The scene where she crawls down the stairs like a crab, with her head spun around is some of the freakiest cinema I have ever seen!

That movie scared me for YEARS. I was way too young when I saw it (ll years old). I thought for sure I would get possessed too.

After seeing the movie The Blob as a kid I always feared the damn thing would slide up under the covers, from the foot of the bed, and engulf my feet, signaling my doom. For at least a decade after seeing that movie I always tucked the blankets under my feet, so the Blob couldn't get at them. The bed is no sanctuary.

I hope that you are not scared of clowns because, that is what lurks under your bed...it's Pennywise! Have you seen his claws and teeth? I don't want to tell you what he is capable of, it's...it's...too horrible! Ahhhhhh!!!!

I dont ever let my feet hang off the bed. I have to have them covered at all times. I still am a little scared to put my feet on the floor as I am getting out of bed..for the fear that someone is under there ready to cut my ankles...Thanks to those scary movies 20 years ago...lol

Went to the drive-in and saw that movie...scared the poop out of me. Couldn't leave closet doors open and had to check under the bed for critters.

yes, I am 59 now, and at 23 that damn movie made me shower with the shower door open, the bath door open, and my roomate talking to me while I showered, for a week after. I had my boyfriend come over and stay every night ( tuff duty right?) because I was too scared to sleep alone.. and get this I lived in a big house that was built between two streets, one in front, one in back that dropped down a long hill.. there was a long staircase outside of MY bedroom that went down to the back street, and right to my bedroom door, I was totally traumatized, anyone could walk up those stairs and get in that thin glass door. I felt so stupid over being that scared. I was into drawing devils and dragons and crap. I realized evil can exist and never messed with that again. even though it was a movie it was based on real exorcisims.. be careful what you wish for.

I watched this movie alone in the dark in my basement and I felt normal. I can't understand why people scare of movie like this. It is just a movie people.

My sister is the same way and she is 42. She definitely can not watch it by herself. It dont bother me a bit.

LOL I still have to force myself to let my arm hang over the bed! There is NOTHING UNDER MY BED! There is NOTHING IN MY CLOSET! There is NOTHING RUNNING UP BEHIND ME FROM THE BASEMENT! There is NOTHING LURKING IN DARK CORNERS! But yet I still have a little panic about those things sometimes.. Our minds are weird.

I'm the original poster, and I was 6 when my dad took me to see it when it first came out at the movie theater. So it's no wonder it has bothered me for so long.
