I mocked your looks all throughout 5th and 6th grade. By 7th, you were dead - hole in your aorta. I can never apologize to you and it haunts me. I am 38 now.

It sucks how life does things like that, both to you and the one you mocked. Ask yourself one question though: Would you have appologized if this person was still alive? Chances are you wouldn't since you would have just followed the usual path of life...kinda like you are now. You were a kid who didn't understand what you were doing just like the rest of us. I'm sure if this person was still alive, they would tell you that they forgive you completely.

i feel for you, and i was the one that was mocked in school as a kid. you cant beat yourself up for it forever. you were a kid, you should have to carry around this guilt. I'm sure this person would say you are more than forgiven.

Im so sorry, but you can teach these valuable lessons to your kids, if you have any. Maybe mentor the less fortunate. Usually doing good for the less fortunate helps to ease the heart.

Go to the cementery apologize at the gravesite, mean it and then go on with your life.

I think the last comment is good. Kids teased me all the time when I was young. It really changed who I was. But as someone said above, if this child hadn't died, you may not even have thought about it. You have learned a lesson.

YES!! A graveside amends is what you need. Go there, get on you knees in front of the stone and address the person like they are right there in front of you. Apologize and then tell them that you will never treat a living person like you did them. Then get up and do what you say you will and the weight of the world will fall off your shoulders! It did for me!!

I was one of those that were mocked at in the school. Today I am far ahead, in life, of them . I talk to them when I visit home and do not hold any grudge against them; but I know I do not have any goodwill for any of them and I will never forgive them.

One way to let go is to write a letter to your friend and then burn it. It will help you to let it go.
