I've been there mate. I know about the confidence thing. Just try and get a job - any job - and get back on the treadmill. Eventually you will build confidence to progress and get a better job. Good luck - you're one of many out there my friend.

I agree with all the above comments. These hard times will not be with us forever.American will heal itself, we have to have hope and patience.God be with you and know that people do care even complete strangers. Hand in there.

I got laid off from my job 10 months ago. I had worked there almost 20 years. Take it one day at a time, man. Take what you can in assistance and know that working or what your job is does not define who and what you are as a person. I will be praying for you.

This to shall Pass, You will see! Your life is worth so much more than your ablity to make a pay check. Things will get better! Yes Prayer can help, but when your already so down it's hard to reach out to God when you feel so helpless!

I think that the people who are wasting time are the ones who do not pray for a better job.

Do what you have to do (this does not include killing yourself, for goodness sakes). There are always ways to make money. It may not be doing what you want to do and it may not give you the amount of money you want. Downsize and keep at it until you find the right job. Then upsize again. It's not worth dying over. Good luck!

Don't do that, I mean it DON'T!! You wouldn't believe how many time I was out of work was able to bounce back and I'm black!!: you know the drill "last hired-first fired" I now have a job as a computer technician and salesman making 120 per year and work for a great company. You just have keep looking now matter what, and don't let any ignorant nut-job tell you its hopeless. Once you start believing that you go down quick. (Hang in there my man)

I'm in the same situation, but I won't kill myself over some stupid-ass job, that would be letting the a** ****s win...take everything you can get...you've paid into it all your life, so get something back.

i have been there recently. It seemed hopeless and I wanted to die and I felt like a coward for not being able to go thru with ending it. I only keep going for my kids. even tho they are grown. HANG IN THERE.

I know how you feel but a lot of the posters are correct; being jobless is temporary although it might not seem like it. I've applied for jobs in at least 25 of the states and overseas. I get the same results; either I'm over qualified, qualified but not the best candidate or I don't hear anything at all. Know this your not alone. I feel into a deep depression last October and seriously thought of ending my life. I decided to get help and I pray you do too. God bless and just take one day at a time.
