When I found out you recycled your ex's engagement ring I pawned it. I used the money to go visit my ex in Boston over the weekend.

Recycling people over recycled small shiny things. sorry you didn't get what you deserved, princess. Maybe I'll go to the pawn shop and buy that ring for my girl.

I'll admit, giving a fiance a "used" ring is pretty tacky....but why do you have to outmatch that tackiness with something harmful to the relationship? Guess it's a good thing there won't be a wedding.

what we have here is a failure to communicate...it is better that you two broke it off now then to go on not understanding each other.

i have a family heirloom diamond. should i sell it if the first girl i ask doesn't work out?

You go girl!

Don't use the heirloom as the engagement ring. It was one of the reasons I dumped my fiance. Such loyalty to a family makes a man incapable of really loving the girl. She will always come second.

^I would see it as complete trust and belief in the relationship, since an heirloom is priceless and cannot be replaced. That is essentially what it is meant to convey to you. I'm glad you didn't accept it, there will be someone who is worthy of it and it's not you!

the comment about the heirloom ring was right on target, probably more valuable than that crap they sell today.
