I was married to a woman for 13 years until the gay in me couldn't stay away. My parents never asked and found out when they met my partner later. We don't talk about it - but hell they treat me better now than when I was married. Being racist may be a problem with them, but being against you because you're gay probably won't be as big a deal as you think it is. Parents love their children - usually regardless of their decisions.

I'm pretty sure the Secret Giver realizes that Racism and being Gay have nothing to do with each other. Maybe if you actually read the secret, before commenting you would have realized that the 'Family' doesn't agree with homosexuals OR people of different making the challenge harder. He's upset because he broke up with the person he LOVES. He seems to be more upset because he can't talk about it, especially his family, because they would outcast him... just sayin'

honestly, you need to race back to him and tell him how much you love him. i'm not gay, so i can't speak about the homophobia element of your family, but 3/4 of my family are racist. i was in a long relationship with a man who was biracial. we were madly in love. he never met most of my family. we left a restaurant one day because one of my relatives was there. now he's dead and i wished i had the courage to stay and not give a damn what they thought. i'm still so ashamed of that day, although he wanted to avoid the drama as much as i did. i would give up every one of them if that meant i could spend one more day with him. don't let other people dictate who you share your love with.
