That's so sad. I'm sorry, but I'm glad you got away from your mother. It's nice to hear that you did something with your life. When you have children, make sure you break the cycle!! What about your father? Could you go there?

Actually dear -- you have EVERY place to go, because you took care of yourself and got an education. You will find your way, and, there will be guides to help you starting with your university. They will have guides and counselors who can assist you.

I had a sorority sister in this exact situation about ten years ago and I am so glad to say her life truly opened up after graduation. You have done the hardest part and as long as you keep your focus, you'll be better off than you can ever imagine. The fear is natural to you because your mom programmed you that way. You have overcome her evil many times before! Best of Luck!!

I own a business. If you were to make that disclosure during an interview, you would go to the TOP of the candidate list. I am tired of whiny, dependent, Xbox-raised grads who have never experienced a single hardship in their pathetic lives. You are different from most. You have DESIRE and DETERMINATION.

My girlfriend is in the same situation. Her mother is really... evil. It's really hard on her but I'll be happy when she makes it through and realizes that her parents don't control her anymore.
