I'm assuming you have talked with a physician about your odds. If so, you have probably made a wise choice. How much more tormented would you be if you had 2 children that needed extra attention, time and medical care, especially if they couldn't live on their own...you would feel twice as bad!

Whats the nature of the disorder? If its bad you might not want to have another child. Love the one you have already.

Wow, a smart, responsible human being! I didn't know you still existed... Having more children after one that's already disabled is just plain moronic. People that do that should be killed. I'm so glad you've actually taken another initiative. It's not about you, it's about the child.

I'm a former special needs child. my mother had 2 children. I am the oldest. I can say from experience, unless the disorder is one that will make it to where this child is to be cared for every day for the rest of your lives, don't rule out having more children. Ask your doctor what the odds are about it happening again. it's not that likely. I'm sure you have lot's of love to give. You can try adoption. there are children that need your love.
