We cut our daughter (15) off IM-ing completely after busting her cyber-sexing with boys she goes to school with. Kids don't need to be online alone, most of them lack the self control and are too much raging hormonal curiousity, boys AND girls, to allow that much access to outside influences. Or we can go on believing they really ARE just talking with friends about school.

I sleep with our modem so on line access is not possible. why set them up to fail? remove the temptations and stand up for them! my son respects me that I love him enough to protect him when I discovered on line porn at 13 yrs old. He came across it doing a health assignment. Now, three years later, he is confient, straight A's and doing great. Prior, he was depressed, isolating himself and something was definitely wrong.
