I used to think I covered up my social anxiety with weed. The I stopped smoking and realized that the weed was contributing to it. I'm much better in social situations now, I just never knew it because I started smoking so young. Not saying the same goes for you. I still miss getting high.

Weed did help me but after my 15 year personal experience PLEASE get professional help, 10mg of Lexapro a day will do more for you then weed ever can or ever will. Trust Me - been there done that.

"Unlike chocolate, weed is illegal in case you hadn't heard..." C'mon man. I smoke EVERY SINGLE DAY. It relaxes me. I have a well-paying job. I come home from work, I do whatever I can to help around the house. But when it's MY time...I like to sit down and smoke a bowl. Why is it the f***ing GOVERNMENT'S job to tell me what I can and cannot do in the privacy of my own home. I think that's bullshit. I'm not a bad person and neither is anyone else that I know who smokes. YES it alters my mind. YES I JUSTIFY IT. But I justify it to my wife and myself. I do NOT have to justify it to you, or a police officer, or Obama. It's no one's business but my own. And if you're one of those people who cannot handle the "altered mind" that comes from smoking, than YOU have to make that choice not to smoke it.

Yes, most people do stop at stop signs and if they don't then they are also harming society, and potentially physically harming others. Laws exist for a REASON. I'm a weed proponent but there is no question that it is harmful to the young just as all drugs are to minds that are not fully formed. For the guy 4 up that told the person to educate them selves if you only knew why marijuana was illegal you would feel stupid. The only reason it is illegal is so the government could make money putting people in jail take the weed then sell it back. There is no reason marijuana should be illegal if alcohol is legal and ciggarettes that kill more people than marijuana so what do you say to that..it alters your mind yea so does alcohol. I smoked it for over twenty years. For some people, it definitely makes it harder to socialize. The weed is probably making your problem worse. I quit about 17 years ago. I do a far better job of being in control of my life now.

Such judgment here... people see one or two people acting/reacting in a certain manner and all of a sudden everyone is guilty. I partake "once in awhile". And that is getting a bit more frequent these days. Not everyday/all day, mostly on the wknds or after work. People say cigarettes and alcohol are worse... who is to say, I say the people themselves are responsible or irresponsible. But if you look at the facts... many more people die as a result of chronic use of alcohol and tobacco than of marijuana use, relatively speaking.
