Follow the independence road as far as you possibly can. No man can rescue you in the way that you want and you will just leave him because of how disappointed you are in his selfish modes of operation. At least if you have a nest egg of your own, you can find your way back to independence when you see the light.

OP: I will never ever never ever give up my independence, especially for a man. I've worked too long & too hard at it. But it doesn't make me a bad person to want to feel a little dependence too. Ignoring the hater - you are kind of a wierd troll on here, aren't you? Anyway, if you give up your independence, you're going to be miserable. Rescue yourself and find a way to live with someone without having to give up your life. Those women who end up living with some guy, no job, stuck hate their lives - it's miserable for both people. No one wants to feel like they're raising an adult child, or be that child. Grow up - the fantasy of your girlhood is over. You are not a princess and no matter how many frogs you date, they will not turn into a prince.
