It says that you are terribly insecure, and terribly egotisical at the same time. You may feel that you are not going to be terribly successful going after the more appealing, handsome men, and fearing rejection, you flirt with the ugliest, quietest men because you think you'll have a better chance of a positive response. You like the attention or response they give with their shy incredulity that this party goer has selected them to flirt with. On the other hand, you could also have an inflated ego and you enjoy that shy wishful manner that hopes, really hopes, that this girl is serious and "really into them" and the look they have, that they might stand a chance of feeling some normal social happiness for a bit, appeals to you, even if you plan to do nothing with it. You are kind of a spiritual vampire, arn't you? Sucking up the spirit and hope from these guys, and spitting it out when you leave? You don't say that of course, that the flirting doesn't come to fruition, but if it doesn't, then you are a sad and lonely cocktease, and nothing more.
