I'm angry with you for dying before you should have. I'm angry with you for not making an effort. But I miss you, Daddy, and it hurts to be angry with you still

op here- thank you for your kind words. no one in the family knows this, and i shouldnt feel this way, it seems so childish to me. when i'm 23 years old and have 3 kids of my own, but i'm getting married next year and i can't go forward with plans because he's not here to walk me down the aisle. it hurts too much to plan a wedding without my father.

I am a father and if you where my daughter I would want you to have a great wedding. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you...but you can do it, be strong.

You have to go on without him no matter how much it hurts. You know that he'd want you to have a lovely wedding, and just think how happy your kids will be...maybe have one of them walk ou down the aisle?

I'm 25 and have lost a parent as well. Your life will always be different, especially from others who are your age. Your wedding has to be whatever kind of wedding will work for you. My sister chose to have a private ceremony with no one there besides her and her husband, because that was what worked for her. I chose not to walk at my college graduation, because it just would have been too painful. You do what works for you, because no one understands the pain and what you go through, they can only sympathize. Go through with the wedding because you have to continue with your life, but if it's too painful, then don't plan anything, just do it unconventionally one day. Or, plan slowly and do what you can when you can do it. I was angry at my mom for many things and thought "I shouldn't feel this way", but in reality she shouldn't have done what she did and my feelings were appropriate. When good things come, they just aren't as good as they should be, now they're bitter sweet. There's that extra little catch-he's not there any more. He's with God and you're meant to continue with your life and be happy.
