I used to wonder the same thing until I sought help when I contemplated killing myself.I called AA and I've been sober for 23 years this past May.One day at a time with the help of my higher power I remain sober,this is my choice to lead a respectable life.You too can do it...I'm one of the many that are doing it daily.It's a great feeling to be sober...one day at a time by the grace of God and my willpower 24/7's.I'll always be a recovering drunk.That word DRUNK reminds me of what it used to be like.Peace...

Only you can change that. If your ready get some help.I did it I was a severe alcoholic,It can get better go to AA it saved my life after20 years of alcohol abuse i have been sober for 3 years,the best 3 years of my life. it works if you work it.

alcohol is the worst drug i think. cause it takes time too kill you unlike where you can easily OD in one night on other drugs....alcohol..also takes away friends and family and slowly your mind...pls get help for this :|

You need to get to an AA meeting Now! I went in Dec. 2000. It was the best thing I ever did for MYSELF. Maybe also try a treatment center. The help is out there, go get it!!!!

Could be a day or a life time. Lost one of my closest buddies to alcohol. The twist to it all is that a bullet to his head is what killed him, alcohol drove everyone away and brought him to the idea. Died Sober with brains all over the wall.

Go to AA and keep going. You can't do it alone. Alcoholic could take forever to kill you physically, but you are probably already feeling dead inside, am I right? Sober 7 years here and I never knew how many people I was really hurting with my alcoholism. Seek help w/ AA you will be glad you did.

I am a recovering alcholic. I quite the day I found out I had HIV. I'm so much happier now. more healthy then i've ever been. It's not to late to give it up and live a good life:)

Actually it probably won't take all that long with the stuff it looks like you're drinking. You'll probably be 'pickled' for several years first, split from whatever family you have, drop deeply into debt, take some menial job which will keep you in the stuff, lose your teeth,and forget to eat regularly. Then one long dark night of the soul, you just won't wake up from blackout.

My son was 31 years old, put himself through school,was a supervisor and new father. Drank himself to death in November. I am devistated. Get some help!!!!
