It gets a lot easier once you accept that you are afraid of the dark. I am too, but I can now sleep in the dark. Accept it the same way you accept that you hate eggplant, or anything else; it is what it is.

I have a nightlight in every room of my apartment. I've been afraid of the dark since I was 5 and saw the ghost of my older brother in my bedroom. I tell my fiance the lights are for when I wake up at night it's better to see.
