I'm in Detroit and we have it bad all over around here. Houses are vacent and empty more now then ever before. People's belongings are being thrown to the curb from evictions and it's so sad to see. Just lost job too. Unemployment is a joke. Lived pay check to pay check. No savings, that was drained 3 years ago paying hospital and medical bills. Now we have nothing! What a sorry state Michigan has come to. This is happening to people everywhere. I hope the welfare system can handle us all because without jobs around here we're doomed. I feel for ya and praying for us all!

I am so sorry for you and your family. If you lived in Florida, I'd offer you a roof to put over your head. Maybe more Americans and Christians should be opening theirs hearts and their homes to people in your situation. That is the real America that I remember. where did everybody go. God help us all.

she probably posted from the library dumbf*** when she was looking for a JOB! not that it matters, im sure if you don't think poor people deserve the internet, you probably don't want them to have access to healthcare either!!! i have lived in a van as a child in the winter....it is very cold and scary. shelters are almost worse because they steal from you and make you feel like a charity case, like you should feel HAPPY to be sleeping on a cot next to a drunken child molester bum trying to steal your gold fillings.... :( i hope the op keeps her chin up, it will get better! please don't fall into drinking or drug abuse for your children's sake! Keep you head in place. Don't give up as that will do no good at all. Talk to everyone you can and network yourself, even if thru job boards. Learn to things you normally wouldn't do such as landscaping, house cleaning, flipping burgers, etc. There are jobs available, but usually folks want jobs "they want" not jobs that are available. Broaden your horizons. Maybe you could teach folks to fish down by the river.

Congress exempted itself from any national healthcare plan this week, just thought you'd all like to know. To the OP: call Catholic Social Services in your area, they will help. Almost any Jewish organization will too. Don't bother with the Muslims unless you are one.

There are approximately 150 million jobs in the USA... There are about 304,059,724 for the person that said being adaptable will help what do you think now? I know its bad. Another company here just closed that makes 6 so far. This is a small place and the jobs are drying up fast. I have been a temp for 3 years. I love doing it, but even the company I have worked for so faithfully is struggling to find anyone work. There are little words can do to help. I would consider finding a roomate in the local news paper.

Actually I am renting a home that went into forclosure. The owner failed to tell us untilit was too late. Where I live cost of living is extreme. Don't say..MOVE, unless you plan on giving me 7000 dollars to do it. I have the internet from the people that live on the same property as us..ever hear of wireless? They pay we get it free, thank goodness. We are all out on our asses at the end of the month. Did I mention the ownere never said a word, he also stole all of our secrity deposits to. Yes I know I can go to court...again, with what money or time? I need a job there are none, did I mention I live on an Island? I bet that will make some of you change your views. Who gives a f*** anyways. Don't judge me when you see me with my kids taking showers at the bathroom.

Buffalo/rochester NY. You have a place to stay and Warm food/showers. If you live this way. I wish i could help in any other way, but I, too am living paycheck to paycheck with absolutely no help at eighteen years old. I am so sorry for you and your family.

Lucky,you can afford a van.I just got fired,no saving no friends no family...I'm thinking to end it soon by moving to another country at least noone knows me there so been homeless wont be much of a shame.
