Only you know if you should tell your parents. Do find someone to talk to professional or otherwise. As for your ex boyfriend realize this wasnt you. This was faulty wiring in his brain that made him feel this was the only option. Accept him and yourself completely. It is the highest form of love we can experience here. Total and complete acceptance.
