That's what dads do - put up with their sons when they're jerks, and love them regardless. You are very fortunate to have had a dad who cared enough about you to spend time fishing with you. Enjoy those memories.

Thanks for the nice comments. I didn't have enough room to write that he was actually my step-dad and raised me as his own. I really was lucky. I was a dick when I was a teenager, but we got through it. He died when I was in my 20's.

I think about my dad every day day. All my dad did when I was a kid was work and sleep. He worked two jobs till I was a junior. He really loved all of us, and the older I get the more I realize it. I wish I could hug him and thank him for everything he did for us. I wish he could see that I'm not a flub-a-dub any more, and that I have amounted to something, and that I take care of my younger siblings. love you dad!
