I call bullshyt. No publicity? Being able to hide that kind of money? To have it and have to be careful of spending it so family and friends don't wonder where you got it? Don't say you already had millions to begin with so managing and hiding it is easy; "rich" people don't "waste" their money "investing" in the lottery. I call bullshyt.

everyone who calls BS will never win the lotto and i feel bad for you if you do. people are greedy especially family, i made the mistake of telling my cousin i was going to get a large sum of cash back from the IRS, a small mistake on their part, it wasnt 17 million but a nice 5 digit number, i didnt say though, that it was going to be given to me through the next 7 years small payments, the next day i had aunts and uncles calling me asking me for cash, keep in mind these people didnt talk to me before because i married a man they didnt like. i bought my husband a brand new car and the rest is going to paying the house off.

If you won 17 million dollars you would not be able to keep it a secret. It's impossible to keep it a secret unless you are a hermit...and even then your not immune from publicity. So I think you mean, "If you won 17 million dollars" you wouldn't want to tell anybody.

Total Bullshit. Read the fine print on ANY lottery ticket... It says that you give them total release to use you for publicity. You don't think that a 17 million dollar winner wouldn't be a publicity windfall?!

If I won 17m, I'd set aside the first even 10mil for myself. Then I'd divvy up the 7mil between family and friends - maybe 1mil for my parents for putting up with me, 1mil for my brother and his wife, 1 mil for my best friend. I'd give them a lump sum of half, and then make trusts in their names so they'd get payouts of the rest over a period of years so they don't blow it all at once. And I'd spread a few 100k between other friends so they can catch up their bills, and so on down the line. And then my library, and the local pet rescues, etc. Good luck.
