I always thought it was a horrible world to bring a child into, I still do. Never thought I wanted children and finally changed my mind mid 30's, my husband wanted children, and it seemed to be the next step in life. You get a whole new unbiased perspective. It is a tough job but also rewarding. Times I think I could be a better parent.

it's not!!!! it's just the world is a very selfish place and in that selfishness noone can see what is truly precious untill they are inches from their last breath and then they wish they had it all to do over again!!!!!

Some people just aren't meant for parenthood. It's a full time job that comes with a lifetime of commitment. When people begin to realize they don't HAVE to have children, maybe less children will be resented, neglected, and abused. Volunteer for your local CASA for children and I guarantee you'll agree. Those who have children only to end up neglecting them are the true selfish people. Those who admit they cannot handle the task upfront can at least maintain honor. That being said, I wish you the best in regards to motherhood.

Your friends probably have mothers who didn't give the love to them that they deserved while they were growing up. Maybe they were promised opportunity and live has fell short on delivering even an unlocked door. Maybe they saw the dischord at home and realize that having children makes relationships harder. Maybe there is worry of passing on a life full of depression to another. Maybe they realize they don't have to fix what is wrong with their family by creating another generation. Bless you for still wanting to shape and develop and mold someone properly for the future generations.

When I was younger I always told myself that I never wanted a child, and always ranted to my friends on how I couldn't stand people who had children because children where filthy and disgusting. I was actually trying to justify never having a kid because I thought I would never be able to properly care for them, or be a good parent. I now have a beautiful baby girl and she is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me!

Because we have an epidemic of Narcissism on our hands. Facebook, My Space, You Tube, everyone wants to be famous and entitled. The youth today want EVERYTHING handed to them. They are selfish and spoiled. That is why no one wants to have them.

post, i was exactly like you my whole life, had no idea or intrest in anything in this world but being a mother and having a family. now i have beautiful daughters, they are my world and my friends, life is perfect because of them!!! don't let anyone steal your dream by their ways of thinking and don't judge because others don't have the same dream, not everyone is designed for loving a child, just as not everyone is designed for marriage, or designed for this or that, ect, ect. we all are designed for a unique walk in life and that we should follow. if that is your calling follow it, it's your gift! charish it.

I think a lot of it has to do with upbringing. If you had crappy parents, you're more reluctant to risk being the same. Just be sure you wait until you're old enough and have a stable income and mate. :)
