Try taking a break from each other for a while. This does NOT mean cheat, for there should be ground rules, even ones as non threatening as one of yyou sleeping on the sofa for a week. It should re-establish the connection, you have to miss your lover occassionally. When you live together you are too readily available to each other and you get on each others nerves. Especially if you are snowed in!

Im not sure what is making you unhappy. . . but maybe you should tell them. That is a lot easier than saying something like "we are breaking up even though i love you and know we should still be together" yeah. tell them you are unhappy. . . itd be much easier on that poor person.
