This is soo true! People really do only care about themselves. I see it everyday. I go out everyday and do not pre judge anyone, I am nice and kind always considerate and polite...most people take that as me being weak or a push to the side kinda of person. People cut me me don't say thanks when I let them through, When I help them they forget to say thanks(thats me giving the beifit of the doubt...they forget to...mhm) People who think there kids is the most special so they treat your kid like shit or don't give your kid any kind of coutesy because your special kid is walking through. People who look down on you because of how you look don't even want to smile your way. It is sick I see it everyday and it does not start with me. I go out everyday hoping and waiting for someone to change my mind. I have no friends because people are fake and flaky and really only want to talk about themselves or gossip about people THEY hate. Ugh I am getting irritated just thinking about it. People who want to say it's me and the OP are the ones I am talking about.

It's not a realization because it's not true. Sure, people care about themselves. To do so in a healthy way is imperative to enlightenment. Sure, some people care about themselves in an unhealthy way, in a way that hurts or discards others. But they are hurting themselves the most. Many people care about others, even strangers. I've seen it. I've done it. I do it daily. So maybe you've stumbled on a sad interpretation of life, instead of a realization. I wish you luck in overcoming that.
