Thank you for your bravery. I respect you for having the courage to join and to go and fight. I know the reason we are there is iffy, but I still think showing the extremists that we will not stand idly by while they deny humans thier right to live life as they choose, is as good a reason as any to be there and fight! Bless you!

you are a patriot and a hero. you acted when others only criticized. america is still a great country, and God will bless you for defending her.

Thank you for your service to our country. God bless you.

I've been there myself. However, this was something we VOLUNTEERED to do. No one drafted you or made you sign against your will. If you weren't committed you should have flipped burgers.

A big Thank You to all the soldiers out there taking care of business. I hope that as you pull the trigger you think of my husband and child too, who died on Flight 93. 9-11 touched more than me. My best friend and her child died in the World Trade Center. Her child was in daycare. Thank you for doing what I can't.

Yeah, whoever wrote the "gulliable and happy" comment: get a f***ing education; check your grammar before you spout your ignorant opinions; rest assured that while you spread your herpes there are brave men and women like these fighting for you. Don't have a nice day, you piece of shit; die and rot in hell - no time like the present.

You watch people die while I watch T.V. You face danger while I decide what tie goes with my suit. Thank you for your service and sacrifices and take solace in this verse of the Star-Spangled Banner Then Conquer We Must When Our Cause Is Just And This Be Our Motto “In God We Trust”

thank you for your service and bravery-i have an adopted soldier who does his job with purpose-never complains, never aks for a thing-he is in the guard and a cop-what appals me most is that employers will not hire him because he is scheduled to deploy again. He has no financial security. I am picking up the slack as best i can because i don't want him on the streets. he accepts what he does for this country. I really do support our troops and I apologize to you for what our country has decided to put in office next year. we owe you because you give and protect our freedom. you did not serve in vain. It is because of you and those who serve with you that we have a great country. Those who disagree our country is great please leave asap. We don't need you or want you in this country. These are the ones who bring shame to our country while you make us proud that we have men and women who take pride in defending this country. If you came back a diffferent, it is my hope that you feel stronger about free dom life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for being a true American. #3 is a lefty, socialist, commie-he needs to leave!

War changes people. All those who go off to war can expect to come back a changed person. The change is almost always negative. That's the nature of war and the human psych. Just telling it like it is. And, I did serve in the military.

I was part of the team that destroyed the buildings in Sudan and Afghanistan in 97 after the embassy bombing. I regret Afghanistan because we just barely missed Osama. The bigger regret is that due to bad intel the weapons factory was in fact a medicine factory. I felt a lot of guilt and remorse for years after reading the casualty analysis and knowing all of the cleaners and workers killed. I was just a pawn in the game and doing what I felt was right for my country and fellow man. For every life you may have taken, just consider all of those that you saved. Be right with God or whomever you believe in and let the peacenicks go and solve the problems with an understanding hug. They will figure out soon enough that there way is likey not the best.

Thanks for your service. The advantage you gained is that now whenever office politics are being played you have the dominant position. I was a sailor - will always regret not being a Marine - Marines always had the upper hand - They would mention the VC they killed & I lost every disagreement (we were engineers)

That is the main flaw about being part of something so much bigger than yourself

Hey buddy! this means you have a soul. I never really understood why people with souls sign up to kill people to be honest, but now you can work for peace and help disadvantaged kids (who are the ones they always try to recruit) make better choices than you did. Too bad you didn't kill the 'nice guy' above. Obviously he's never strayed too far from his trailer park in the state of Alabama.

Thank you for your service and I am truly sorry for your pain. =( The "cost of it" is always beyond the ken of those who have never had to put themselves on the line like that.

I left the Marine Corps after 14 years just after the first gulf war. I tell everyone that it is because I met the woman of my dreams. Really its because of the things I have seen and things I have done during that war. You are not alone my brother. Things are NEVER the same when you take another life. The reality of the act effects you in ways you never imagined. Semper Fi!

And now you now you are not a hero. You are not serving. You are a mercenary for this country, bought and paid for by your own choice. Even though this darkness exists, you are stronger for it. You know the lies. You can see the light much clearer now if you look for it.

Keep the faith, bro. Been there done that. We just gotta forge ahead.

You think all soldiers are brave, you should see the cowards I see every day. Milking the system like blood sucking leaches. I'm sorry you raised your right hand and more sorry you picked the short end.

Thank-you and know that a piece of you is now always with me, I will remember your quote and always respect all those that provide me my freedom while sacrificing there own sense of self.

These things are not possible if we refuse to participate, soldiers and civilians alike. We regular people have more in common with an Iraqi citizen than we do with the elite, Halliburton-connected power-brokers in the US. It's time to take a stand, for our country, our values, our soldiers and for ethics.

I can ONLY imagine what you feel daily! To have to shoot someone esle over the beliefs of a country that has shown for many years the egotisical and ethnocentricism the ways the government does!!! Really makes me wonder;could I shot someone on their soil and tell them they cannot do what they have always done in their own country?HELL NO!! YOU ARE ABETTER MAN in that regards(as you were ONLY DOING YOUR J-O-B!) No Regrets; No Worries!!
Remove this stupid comment

No one should be asked to kill another human being. Try to find forgiveness for yourself. The fact that you have a conscience is a double edged sword, but speaks well of your character. By the way, people don't always understand that shooting other people, even for their country, is still killing another human being. It sounds good in the movies and on paper, but the reality has caused many a good man to become mentally unhitched in war time. Shell-shock, PTSD, etc....

I understand your pain. I have been there and I feel the same. Yes, we voluteered to join this nation's great Army, but it dos not make it any easier when you have to take a life. I carry the same burdon with me everyday. I tell myself that I did this for the greater good. But I too will never be the same...

This is what happens when you join an armed military force . I'm guessing that like so many others you signed up for the college benifits . Thinking that we just won a war over there in 1994 , we could'nt possiblly go to war again . Then all bets changed on 9-11 .I feel for you and admire what you did and am greatful for your sacrifices . But you were not drafted you volunteered .

Thank you for your sacrifice!! My husband did the same and he left, but never really came back. I wish people understood that.

There are thousands of us. None of us came back unchanged. Keep in touch with the Vet Center, and/or the VA. They can help, they know how and they have the experience. Don't be afraid, or ashamed, or alone, There are more of us than you can imagine.

I worry that this will happen with my Husband, cousin , brother in laws, ... I see so much hope for change every time they talk about going. But Honestly I worry the only change will be in them. And if i will be able to help them at all when or If they return!

The comment above stating.."this is a person who has no idea what the US did for the world." WTF...this man knows exactly...He is the US....He is the freedom....He is the reason you sleep soundly at night....He is the reason you are free to make that comment...He is the one who pulled the Fn trigger for the US. What has the US done for him now!!!!!

Brother you did what you had to do sucks sometimes but war is war and no one even your fellow soldier will ever understand how it affects you. I have seen some take it well others fold I dunno man. My Uncle a veitnam vet he said it best when I left for the sand box "Do what you gotta do and don't be ashamed leave it there and come back to your family". Honestly man thats all there is and thats that.

Why would God bless a country that goes against the bible in every way, especially during war times? All you "God Bless America!" people need to be quiet and read your bibles. We are supposed to love our enemies, not shoot them!

I can't say I know what you are going through, but I am on the other end. My boyfriend is going through it. It took him awhile but he started going seeing a therapist. It's been a year and he is finally feeling like his old self again. He still has his nightmares of what happened. It may seem like you'll never get back to who were before, but it can happen if you find someone who will listen and sometimes proper prescribed medication will help. Surround yourself with those you feel comfortable talking to and who will be there for you. I know it's tough, but you will be in my prayers.
