Don't allow her to treat your children the way she treated you. Distance yourself and children from her. being a part of her life is a ticket for her to continue her awful behavior. Good luck to you, and the little ones.

Once you realize the value you and your children have and come to accept that your mother will not change it will be easy to walk away. Call her and tell her not to call or visit, tell her it is to protect you and the kids from mental and emotional abuse (or write to her), then stick to your guns. You have the right to have peace and freedom from abuse. DO NOT HAVE CONTACT WITH HER, she will only take the opportunity to try to manipulate and guilt you in order to control you as she is used to doing. Tell the kids that their grandmother does not treat you and them like she should and it is healthier for them to be away from her for a while. It will be hard in the beginning but will get easier. I know.
