I'm a firefighter also and let me tell you boose isn't the answer. Get help, talk to a grief counsler, talk to someone. I've been there. You can't save them all but you can revel in the ones you do save.... Even if you can't save them, your a hero for trying....

I know it's hard to not dwell on the past but you need to push forward and focus on those that you CAN save and that you HAVE saved. You risk your life constantly in fires...you are a hero, remember that! :) Not being able to save EVERYONE doesn't make you less of a hero.

Be proud of what you have done. You didn't start the fires and are not to blame. I am in the medical field and have dealt with the same issues but at one point I realized that I have impacted many, many more in a positive way.

FF for 27 years. What you have to get into your mind is, it's not your problem. You can be there to help people with thier problems, but it's not yours. We're just glorified taxis and gift wrappers. If you let it get to you, it will eat you alive and you won't be able to do your job. BTW, M or F?
